My name is Mark Eaglesfield. This blog shares info about many of the day-hikes that I've done, and about several other excursions.

Most of these hikes are in Aotearoa New Zealand, especially the Otago and Canterbury regions of South Island. Above the treeline, tussock and rocks dominate the terrain, so I chose tussock.rocks as my domain name.

Very few NZ and Australia photos are edited, while perhaps two thirds of Europe and Asia photos are.

I thank my family and friends for their encouragement as I’ve built this blog.
